時は経ち、年々進化を遂げてきたスノーボードという文明は現在ちょうど１サイクルが経ち、原点に戻り見つめなおす時期にあります。スノーボードの文明が始まった当初のシンプルにただ自然の山を滑るという遊びの原点、そして楽しむというマインド。全ての滑り手達によって発信された自然の中での新しい遊び、そして気持ちよさを追求し、自分を解放するという興奮と喜びに多くの人々が引きつけられてスノーボードという文明は築かれ、大きなメッセージとなって世の中に浸透していったのです。北米にあるMt.Bakerという山で今シーズンで30年以上も続いている伝説のコンテストがあります。その名はMt.Baker Legendary Banked Slalom。自然の地形のバンクを利用したタイムトライアルレースでスノーボードのコンテストでは現存する最古のコンテストの1つです。現在スノーボードの競技は進化を遂げオリンピックの種目として注目を浴び、X-GAMEなどの種目としても確立された一方で、この30年間も続いているバンクドスラロームという伝説のコンテストは今も多くのビッグネームライダー達が顔を揃え、毎年Winnerの称号にはX-GAMEと同様の名誉が与えられています。それほどこのバンクドスラロームというシンプルなコンテストはスノーボードの神髄を継承し続けているのです。

On Mt. Baker in North America, there is a legendary contest that has been taking place for over 30 years. It's called the "Mt. Baker Legendary Banked Slalom". A time trial race using banked natural terrain, it is one of the oldest snowboarding contests still in existence. Snowboarding as a sport has evolved over the years, garnering attention as an Olympic event and becoming established as an event in the X-Games and other competitions. However, many big-name riders still participate in the legendary banked slalom contest, which has been running for the past 30 years. Honestly say, every year, the title of winner is awarded with the same prestige as the X-Games.
